Lost

Last weekend we had a long weekend here because of the Quebec day, in one of the days I watched the first season of lost, it is really really cool, if you haven't watched it yet I think it is a must to watch it, I promise you will enjoy(if not, don't trust me anymore;) we have different tastes:D). I can't wait to watch the second season, actually I promised myself to watch it after finishing the program I am working on now, as a gift, it is a really good motivation.

Paris, je t'aime

Paris, je t'aime is a collection of 18 episodes by 18 directors which has been made in 18 different places in Paris, about love in Paris or as they say in the movie "The city of love". I pretty liked some of the episodes, specially the one in which there is a mom who sings a lullaby to her child. In some of the episodes there exist a sense of humor which makes you laugh. Another interesting point for me was that I found there are so many common names between Montreal streets and places and the ones in Paris.

Lives of The Others

It is a long time which I want to write about The Lives Of The Others , I really liked it but after watching I couldn't help thinking about why whenever you read or watch something of that time it is so bias? Today I saw Bahman has written about the same point so I won't write mine;).

1000 Islands

There is a chain of roughly 1800 islands in the Saint Lawrence River that is in the border of Canada-US. Yesterday we went there, the weather was excellent and everything was shiny. Here I uploaded some photos.
The is the smallest international bridge in the world(as the tour guide told us), one island is in Canada, the other in the US :

The English Patient

The English Patient tells an old story which has been told in many different ways, a "love" story. From the first moments of the movie you know a tragedy is going to happen but there is nothing you can think of to stop it. Everything is the way it should be.

It is about borders, about how we oblige ourselves to respect these borders that we have made. I liked this part(Hana is Canadian) :

Hana: There's a man downstairs. He brought us eggs. He might stay.
Almásy: Why? Can he lay eggs?
Hana: He's Canadian.
Almásy: Why are people so happy when they collide with someone from the same place? What happened in Montreal when you passed a man in the street? Did you invite him to live with you?
